It's important to maintain clarity on your project with your clients. I ask my freelance clients four basic questions.

1) What's the project scope?

2) What's the timeline?

3) What's the budget? And lastly

4) How will we communicate?

These four will help you maintain clarity.

Scope and budgets are where i had issues with clients when I was starting out. Now, I did into them as much as possible before starting work to ensure the client and I start and remain on the same page.

3.Any tips or is this an independence job which my creativity and opinion is allowed.
4.Keyword types if it is a writing gig.
5.What can cause the project to be deemed not valid or an payable
