Article Dealing with Clients Asking for Discounts on the Promise of Future Work

I do not do offer discounts for promises of future work when working with new clients. I used to do this and quickly found out that people lie for their own benefit. Shocker, I know! So you are out of money due to the discount, and you do not get any future work because they ghosted. Even if they give you future work, you cannot "overcharge" them to make up for your past shortfall due to the discount.

However, I do offer clients I have worked with for a long time such discounts. I trust them enough to know there is a 99% chance they will give me future work, and it will be worth much more than the one or two discounts I give them in a year. But, I decline for clients who want to take advantage of this like those who ask for discounts on multiple jobs in a row.
